About me and my practice

We can feel overwhelmed and lost for so many reasons, loss of a loved one, breakdown of relationship, loss of a job or a traumatic life event where we feel we can never be the same again. Equally for seemingly no reason we can have low self confidence or anxiety.
However, know there is another pathway we can choose to walk. Some time and space is needed to pause, get some clarity and awareness and then choose again.
So if youre ready to be brave and untangle your life, Im ready to empower you to live your life the way you want to live it and do what makes you feel happy. I look forward to meeting you.

Experience

Discovering a career where I am able to meet people when they are at their lowest and supporting them to a better place is something I am grateful for everyday.
I retrained as a counsellor in 2018. After spending over 20 years working with children and families I then spent time focusing on my own family.
As I approached 40 I felt a generally dissatisfied, whilst life was good on the surface, my family was happy and healthy I felt something was missing for me in life.
After reflecting on how counselling had helped me in the past I tentatively researched how to train as a counselling. Worrying about whether I was too old to start all over again and how on earth I would manage the academic side, which as I am dyslexic was a real concern. However I quickly discovered a passion I didnt know was there. Working as a person centred counsellor is a very good fit for me.

Qualifications

I hold a Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy - Glyndwr University

Level 6 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy- Bangor University

Mindfulness for Practitioners.

Therapeutic Group Facilitation

I have also completed additional training on:

Working with LGBTQIA+ Clients,
Working with Children and Young People
Bereavement counselling
Complex PTSD
Working creatively with burnout and stress
Utilising my qualifications in Person Centred Therapy, CBT and Mindfulness we will unpick and explore where any issues stem from.

Initial Consultation

After you have reached out to me I will contact you to arrange a free 30 minute consultation to make sure we are a good fit and that you feel comfortable talking to me. Following this, I will send you my therapeutic contract for you to review and finalise arrangements for our first conversation

Fees

Online sessions are £50 and face to face sessions £60.

I have 3 concessionary spaces a week, at a cost of £35 for online therapy.

Please get in touch to discuss your individual financial needs. I offer a block booking discount of 10%.

I offer a discount to counsellors in training.

I also work with Modern Health, a work based counselling and coaching platform.

When I Work

I work Monday to Friday. I work 12-9pm on a Monday and 9-5pm Tuesday-Thursday.
I work flexiably according to the needs of my clients therefore I can accommodate shift workers.
